Unlock to Camera on Galaxy S3

There are two ways to unlock directly into the camera app on your Galaxy S3 from the standard lock screen.

1. Tap the camera icon on the lock screen and swipe up. If you do not see the camera icon, go to Settings > Security > Lock screen options and turn the Shortcuts toggle on.

2. Tap and hold on the lock screen and rotate the phone to landscape mode. While this is kind of cool, the first option is probably faster. To activate this feature on your Galaxy S3, first go to Settings > Motion and turn Motion activation on, then go back to Settings > Security > Lock screen options and turn the Camera quick access toggle on.

What & How
Smart Stay
This feature keeps your Galaxy S3 screen on as long as you're looking at it face on. Especially useful when reading long articles.

To set it up, go to Settings > Display, and check the 'Smart stay' box.
Direct Dial
This intuitive feature instructs your Galaxy S3 to call whomever's contact details you are looking at, or whomever you are in the middle of texting, as soon as you put the phone to your ear.

To set it up, go to Settings > Motion, and check the 'Motion activation' box. Then also ensure that the 'Direct call' toggle is on.
Voice cmd
Voice commands offer you a certain amount of control over certain Galaxy S3 apps. Especially handy for taking photos and snoozing your alarm.

To set it up, go to Settings > Language and input, and set the 'Voice cmd for apps' toggle to on. You can also tap on that entry to see what commands are available and select which ones you want to activate.
Turn to Mute
Turn over to mute will pause or mute your phone as soon as you turn it face down. Especially useful in the office to quickly silence an incomming call ring tone or forgotten alarm.

To set it up, go to Settings > Motion, and check the 'Motion activation' box. Then also ensure that the 'Turn over to mute/pause' toggle is on.
Speed up Home Button
you may notice a bit of lag when you press the home button on your Galaxy S3. That's because the S3 is waiting to see if you press twice to launch S Voice. You can remove this lag though for quick access to your home screen.

To get rid of the lag, launch S Voice from your App drawer, then tap the capacitive menu button (left of your home button), tap the settings option and on the following menu un-check the 'Launch S Voice' box.
